Sadly, hundreds of Australian flying-foxes become caught in large aperture fruit tree netting each year. Although we have had a relatively light season so far, it is always distressing to see an animal trussed up and suffering. We received a call from a local vet this morning for a bat in a box and after cutting open the box, this is what we found. This poor girl is lactating.
