WASHINGTON—With just hours to go before a partial government shutdown, the Senate passed a bipartisan deal to fully fund most of the federal government, while giving lawmakers more time to negotiate over proposed new restrictions on immigration enforcement.

On Capitol Hill, lawmakers are trying to finalize a deal that would avoid a partial government shutdown, just hours before the deadline. CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion has more.
