Just in case someone else found this thread trying to come up with the song “La Grange” by ZZ Top, that’s the “bow bow bow bow” 70s ish song I was looking for that led me here!
Full antlion armor is highest DPS when using a crossbow, but it's boring and doesn't allow room for customization. Wasp Tudor pairs well with moth armor or broodmother if you want to apply debuffs and summon bugs frequently. Bee armor kinda slept on since it's tier 2 but can be really fun and powerful for dealing with flyers without pollen arrows.
I tested a new Infinity bow and shot 1538 shots before the bow broke. This is equivalent to 24 stacks of 64 arrows + 2 more shots. You can repair the bow before it breaks and extend the life more. Having a 2nd infinity bow on hand (in place of a 2nd stack of arrows) is FAR less effort than managing over 3000 arrows (over 48 stacks).
Highly recommend running summons with bow. Apex predator, whittle widow, mantman, mom genes, and bards bow makes for almost permanent uptime on summons, giving you plenty of breathing room, which allows you to build your armor totally around abilities, no need to take hits ever.
Many late game bow users have 2 bows on their person. The compound bow for things like events where enemies are tougher. Then, the regular bow for basic enemies. Burning love is a basic bow and, in my opinion, should be treated as such.
It’s very specific I know but I’m trying to hone on the “perfect” bow regarding how it feels and performs and necessarily the one with the best stats. Regarding arrows, I want the highest damage possible with the most consistent and preferably flattest trajectory. Then after that, the longest range.
2. Bow Selection Unfortunately, most bows in the game are utter garbage for the simple reason that neutral bow attacks are also utter garbage. With few exceptions, you’ll always want to be doing A) jump attacks, B) running attacks, or C) roll attacks. All come out significantly faster, with jump attacks providing an immediate follow-up upon ...
Bow drawing/shooting bugs, compound bow worse than recurve ? After playing mostly with recurves i recently rolled a bunch of compound bows and switched mostly to them. All fine at first glance and i like how they look and feel, however i find myself struggling with bugs.
The bow is best in raw damage and medium range once enchanted while the crossbow is faster with the right enchants and can make more precise shots from a distance. It can also fire fireworks and if it has multishot it’s effectively a RPG launcher. It depends on personal choice.
You can't add looting to a bow in survival, but you still can have a looting effect on your bow shots, or any projectile for that matter. In order to accomplish this you need to be holding a sword with the looting enchant in your main hand when the arrow hits.
